APPRENTICESHIP APPLICATION
To commence an apprenticeship with Smith Brothers Plumbing, you must have completed Certificate 1 in Vocational Education (Prevocational) Plumbing.
If you have not yet completed this, there may be the opportunity to do work experience.
If you have completed or are currently doing your Certificate 1 in Vocational Education (Prevocational) Plumbing at Regency Park TAFE, please forward a simple resume and phone for an interview.
We employ apprentices as a host employer in partnership with a GTO (Group Training Organisation). We recruit and employ the largest number of plumbing apprentices in South Australia, aiming for twenty new apprentices each year. Due to our diversity, we offer apprentices a wide range of experience and mentors in both trade and business practices.
Many of our apprentices win awards of excellence during their apprenticeships. Many who began their career as apprentices with Smith Brothers now run the company as Division Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Estimators. Through our recent integration into an Australian/NZ group of companies, our employees now also have the advantage of expanded career opportunities.
Based in Adelaide, Smith Brothers Group is South Australia’s major Plumbing and Pipeline Contracting business with over 150 employees and operating Construction, Maintenance/Hot Water and Pipeline Technology divisions.
We are firmly committed to investing in our future economy through investment in our people; the training of apprentices; excellence in qualified and competent plumbing practices; and in research and development of new innovations and solutions.
Work Experience
We offer the opportunity of work experience so you can try it out first before making a decision on your future career. Work experience can be done in either the Construction division or the Service division.
If you are at school or TAFE, there are work experience programs which will assist you and arrange insurance. If you are unemployed, contact a GTO (Group Training Scheme) and they may be able to assist with the insurance.
